Square The Circle returns for an audacious Autumn gathering: the second installment of a new club night in Manchester celebrating Sound System Culture, from the crew behind the 'Rave of Aquarius' parties. Expect a wild and welcoming multifarious crowd of music-lovers bouncin' to the selections of aficionado residents and guest DJs.
We are back in the big room at Morgan's Bar for the October session, where we took the roof off for the Rave of Aquarius party back in February.
It's the perfect place for this night - no frills, no fuss, down to earth, and off the beaten track. It is the kind of venue that many of us cut our teeth in during the early days of the UK warehouse party scene.
****We will also be celebrating the 50th birthday party of the wonderful Kate Mate so please come and join us on the dance floor and show her some love!!****
The dance floor is the focus of Square The Circle and we have 4 top drawer DJs for you on October 5th, dedicated to keeping the crowd moving with the freedom to take the vibe where it needs to go.
To celebrate Sound System Music in all its forms, not limited by specific genres, timeframes or scenes, we are open to 'all elements, all directions'. You may hear flavours of hip-hop, funk, dub, afro-beat and dancehall through to house, techno, breaks, garage, jungle and more.
The quality of the sound system is crucial to create the dynamic, immersive experience we crave so once again we've teamed up with the meticulous Sixth Sound to provide the PA.
** Early bird and advance tickets available now at £7 & £9 (+bf) and £12 on the door **

Guest DJs
Akrrrs (Teeside)
Hailing from the industrial coast of Teesside, Akrrrs is a DJ of over 30 years, playing anything from afro funk, acid house, electro and techno to noise and ambient. Part of the Sublevel crew in Leeds, he cut his teeth as a hardcore/jungle DJ at the Flashback and Spitting Image nights, along with spots on Paradise FM in Bradford in the 90s. He then co-ran the legendary Red House warehouse parties in Manchester. Since then, he has focussed on putting together studio mixes and radio shows for distribution worldwide, with over 30,000 followers on Mixcloud (https://www.mixcloud.com/akrrrs/). For Square The Circle, he goes back to his roots, compiling some of his favourite tracks from the 'Junglist Meltdown' series. Expect certified jungle/D&B face melters, with some classics throw in.
Mee Liller (Ireland)
From the South-East of Ireland, Mee Liller left home as a curious teenager to travel and work around the world. Eventually settling in Manchester, she works in her beloved NHS as a nurse and midwife. One half of DJ duo, The Daughters of Lee Marvin, Mee steps out solo to get the night started at Square The Circle.
With a broad range of inspirations, from classic film soundtracks, a love of AC/DC through to doo-wop and disco, expect to be lifted higher by upbeat, hi-vibration hip-hop, funk, soul and reggae with some cheeky bootlegs in the mix.
Not a fan of idle chatter when the music is flowing, Mee Liller invites you to share the motto she fully embodies (and the name of the pioneering breakbeat duo ) - ‘Shut Up and Dance!’
Resident DJs
Nay Daze (Norwich)
