This class will be in person at Capital Fabric Supply at 63 Broadway in Kingston, NY
Date & Time : Wednesdays starting May 6th to June 10th from 5:30 - 8:30pm
Cost : $385, all patterns, fabrics and notions supplied. Sewing machines provided.
Experience Level : No experience needed
Age Recommendations : Adult, 16+

Have you ever wanted to learn to sew but never quite knew how to get started? Do you have a sewing machine lurking in the corner of your closet that you've been mustering up the bravery to dust off in 2026? If you have sewn in your past but need a refresher or are finally feeling inspired to sew this year, Square One is for you. In a small group, we will take you step by step through the hands-on basics that will set you up for future success!
May 6th : Stitches, Seams and Machine Basics
May 13th : Construction Techniques
May 20th : Taking Measurements, Reading a Pattern and Fabrics
May 27th : Making Alterations and Cutting out your Pattern
June 3rd : Sewing the Drawstring Pant
June 10th : Sewing the Kiki Weekender

Cancellation Policy : It can be very difficult to fill a cancelled spot in such small groups though we understand life happens, people get sick, things with kids arise, etc. Please read this policy thoroughly before booking as we will not be able to make exceptions as a small, independently run business.
If you can, please provide at least 72 hours notice so that we can try to fill your spot. You will receive a gift card of the purchased amount that can be used towards future workshops or in store purchases.
If you can not provide 72 hours notice or you do not show up to the workshop, you will not be eligible for any store credit.

PARKING
Parking on Broadway is metered during weekdays from 9am-6pm while parking off Broadway on side streets is free so we suggest the latter.
