About this Event
The fourth annual Spurgeon Library Conference will be held on April 29, 2025. The theme of this year’s conference is “Spurgeon on the Preaching of the Gospel.” C. H. Spurgeon frequently said that the pulpit is the Thermopylae of Christendom: “there the fight will be won or lost.” But what the church needs is not a thin, watered-down preaching but a robust, biblically-rooted, theological preaching of the gospel.
This year, we will consider the importance of preaching and the gospel-saturated theology that should resound from our pulpits. Our keynote speakers will be Dr. Joel Beeke (Chancellor, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminar; Pastor, Heritage Reformed Congregation) and Dr. Michael Haykin (Professor of Church History & Biblical Spirituality, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary). You will also hear the latest updates from Dr. Geoff Chang (Curator of the Spurgeon Library) on the work and research of the Spurgeon Library.
For all attending, we pray that you would walk away equipped and encouraged, not only by Spurgeon but by the Savior that He preached. The cost is $40, which includes book giveaways. The conference will be held in the Spurgeon Library on the campus of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, so seating is limited. We look forward to seeing you!
