About this Event
Aberdeen Parkour Takeover 2026
Take on challenges across Aberdeen and try and complete as many of them as possible within 4 hours. There are 88 challenges with varied difficulty levels that test a wide range of different skills. Challenges will be a mixture of one offs and tiered challenges. This means the competition is suitable for all types of practitioner from beginners through to experts.
@upperdenburngardens will be providing a refreshments station during the Takeover at Denburn, which will be donations based.
We are planning on using Supa XXL's takeover app for handling submissions and judging of the competitions this year. So no social media will br required for competiting. Alternative options for submitting challenges such as Instagram are also available.
The takeover format is a great way to try out new movements, test your skills and hang out with the Scottish parkour community.
SPTL
The Scottish Parkour Takeover League is a series of competitions run across the year. At each competition participants will get points towards their overall league score based on their placement in that competition. At the end of the league overall winners will be crowned.
The SPTL league is split into four divisions: Age 11-14, Age 15-17, Women{+} and Open.
(You will be automatically enrolled in the open division and can additionally choose to opt into the Womens{+} division and/or either the Age 11-14 or Age 15-17 divisions if you like.)
All participants (even if not intending on competiting only jamming or trying some of the challenges) will be required to sign up via Eventbrite and accept the rules and waiver of the competition. A suitable parent or guardian can complete these on behalf of under 18s.

Aberdeen Summer Solstice Jam
The Aberdeen summer solstice jam is happening the day after the takeover on the 21st so stay the extra day and come along!

Meet up and Sign In
Info: Participants are required to arrive between 11:00 and 11:30 to prepare for the competition start.

Intro and Group Warm Up
Info: An optional group warm up will be run and a pre-competition debrief.

Competition Time
Info: Competitors will be free to navigate around the city and complete as many challenges as they can during this time.
