Ithaca, NY – It’s time once again for the Community Arts Partnership’s annual Spring Writes Literary Festival! Now in its 16th year, the Festival includes over 40 literary themed events, both live in multiple downtown Ithaca locations, and on Zoom. Over 100 local and regional writers are participating! Spring Writes will blend the best of both worlds with both live (May 2 to 5) and Zoom (May 11 to 18) events. Literary workshops, both live and Zoom, continue from June to August.
The slate of events at this festival is AMAZING!
Visitors will find an open mic for poetry and prose; multiple group readings by established authors; multidisciplinary happenings that blend literature, art and music; over 12 writing workshops with a wide range of subjects like writing science fiction & fantasy; YA speculative fiction fantasy, poetry for resistance, comedy writing, and recovering your creative spirit. Special events include the Ithaca Book & Zine Fair, performances by Lifelong’s Senior Theatre Troupe, a Comics Drama Radio Hour, and nightly multi-media performances. Panels include subjects like Writing Queer in an Era of Book Bans, critique groups, and worldbuilding (with art activities). There are translations in performance, readings by Ithaca College and Cornell students and ...so much more! Check it out.
