About this Event
This class is for adults who know how to ride a bike but would like to practice their handling skills and balance as well as learn essential bike safety information. We will practice smooth starting, braking, shifting, and communicating using hand signals. We will go on a three-mile round trip ride starting on quiet streets, from the Westside Olympia Food Co-op to Garfield Elementary School for a car-free practice area, before riding back to the Co-op on neighborhood streets.
Ami Puri is a bike educator with Intercity Transit’s Walk N Roll program and loves helping all ages of folks learn to get around by bike.
Colleen Welch: I love all things bikey related (except technical mountain biking, which scares me). Twelve years ago I gave up my car and have used my bike and public transportation since then to get around town. I've been volunteering with Walk n Roll for the last couple of years, helping almost every program that WNR dreams up. Last Fall I became a League of American Bicyclists League Cycling Instructor. I really enjoy helping people of all ages become confident riders.
