Weekly opportunity to use design studio space and machines to transform your garments, projects and fixes into a new version to wear.
About this Event

We often find fiber gems that are in slight disrepair, don't fit quite right, or are falling apart and would be better "frankensteined" into something uniquely new and special just for you. Or maybe you know how to sew and need the table space and construction knowledge to get a desired project done.

I am here to share my 20years of knowledge and new tools to help you make something you'll love, wear or gift.

This weekly class series wants you to bring a shirt, a pant, a skirt , a dress, some drapes, a dream and maybe just some beloved (washed) fabric to create something fabulous and new.

You will easily expand on the fundamentals of sewing with one of our brand new sewing machines provided by Quality Sew and Vacuum, or bring your home machine, we want you to feel empowered to use this fabulous tool.

This is an ongoing series posted in two part segments where we meet on Mondays.

We will be making these useful items next to the art gallery Slip in Belltown.

All surfaces will be cleaned and we might require masks to be worn.

Things to note:

- This will include a fast how-to on the sewing machines, so some basic machine knowledge is a must! If you need beginner skills please take our Quick 101 class or the Tote Bag class first to feel confident. Hand sewing might be in order and we got the rulers, chalk, pins, scissors and seam rippers too.

- You must bring items that are laundered in some way, even a delicate hand wash will do. Dry cleaning is overrated so please email if you have further Qs on this matter, email down below.

- Due to the great sizing difference, only so much fabric in a seam allowance, not being able to conjure more material if items are damaged, please come with an open mind and maybe some back up fabric for patching, reworking, and playing with for a potential new lewk and outcome.

- Your magical instructor KFLY is one amazing creative engineer, especially after 25yrs of sewing, and is also still learning. She will do her best, is happy to research and answer all the Qs within class time, so let's get creative and stay flexible together.

Items provided: Brand new machines we have from Quality Sew and Vac, pins, chalk, rulers, scissors, seam rippers, a huge tall table, lots of space and random thread & fabric.

You bring: clean garments and fabrics to work with, a project idea you are flexible around problem solving, buttons, supplies that are pertinent to this specific project, and matching thread unless you wanna roll the dice with KFLY's extra thread (lots of grey.)

If you are interested in this class, have an idea for a class, need this class at a different time of day, or have Qs that Ecosia can't answer please email us at [email protected]

*There is a $50 non-refundable fee should you decide to cancel, and cancelations must happen 24hrs prior to the event via email to [email protected] otherwise the ticket is 100% non-refundable. Rescheduling is possible on a case-by-case basis, just reach out ASAP when you know you won't be able to make class so we can find a time that works.
