Take Nine is a dynamic 9-member jazz combo from the University of Calgary, led by Carsten Rubeling. Featuring a tightly blended horn section that delivers delivering crisp lines and lush harmonies. Anchoring the band is a driving rhythm section whose sensitivity and dynamic range provide both a solid foundation and a spark for exploration. Take Nine also features two dynamic vocalists bringing fresh interpretations to the stage.

The evening will showcase an exciting mix of styles, from the fiery, groove-driven funk of Harold Mabern Jr., to the snappy, soulful blues of Horace Silver, alongside the infectious grooves of Stevie Wonder and the evocative storytelling of Joni Mitchell.
