Spring Standup Comedy Classes at Chill X Studio - April/May 2025

Chill X Studio Standup Comedy Class is an opportunity to learn the basics of standup comedy including:

• Joke Structure
• Stage Presence
• Timing
  And more!
  

All in a fun, supportive environment. Classes are kept small to ensure everyone receives personalized instruction and the space to try new things. By the end of the four-week class, you’ll have a unique 5-minute standup set.

Classes are 2.5 hours once per week for 4-weeks. At the end of 4-weeks students will participate in a Showcase Show, with an audience, where you’ll present your polished 5-minute standup set.

You’ll receive a video recording of your showcase set.

SCHEDULE:

​Day: Monday Evenings* (*Due to holiday long weekends & studio bookings the 1st class will take place on a Sunday)

Time: 6pm-8:30pm PST

Dates:

Week 1: Sunday April 13th, 2025 (2pm-4:30pm)

Week 2: Monday April 21st, 2025 (6pm-8:30pm)

Week 3: Monday April 28th, 2025 (6pm-8:30pm)

Week 4: Monday May 5th, 2025 (6pm-8:30pm)
Showcase Presentation: The Student Showcase show will take place in the evening on Monday May 12th, 2025 starting at 7:30pm.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Named “Best Comedian” in The Georgia Straight’s Best of Vancouver 2024, Katie-Ellen Humphries is a nationally touring professional comedian with almost two decades of live performance experience.

Perhaps best known for their work on CBC’s hit show The Debaters, where they work as both an-air talent and as an Associate Producer, Katie-Ellen has a passion for supporting new performers and helping others to find their own comedic voice and explore personal creative expression.
