About this Event
Take a moment to breathe. Discover signs of spring and the plants and animals that we share this natural gem of an urban park with. Hosted by staff from Alberta Wilderness Association, this walk is a chance to experience Fish Creek Provincial Park with all your senses!
Fish Creek Provincial Park is an important protected area within the vast urban landscape of Calgary. We will have the opportunity to slow down and notice the plants and animals returning or waking up after the winter. The wetlands along the creek provide important habitat for many birds and animals, as well as storing and cleaning the water in Fish Creek. Learn more about the creatures that call the park home and perhaps cross paths with some of them. There will also be the opportunity to discuss issues facing Alberta’s wild places, with your walk leaders, Lindsey and Sara.
WALK NOTES: uneven terrain, no dogs please - except service dogs.
MEETING SPOT: Entrance to Fish Creek Provincial Park at the corner of Canyon Meadows Drive and Acadia Drive. (93 Canyon Meadows Dr SE)
YOUR WALK LEADERS: Lindsey Wallis and Sara Heerema, staff from Alberta Wilderness AssociatioN.
