Spring Mount Sutro Nature Walks: Mindfulness and Wellness on the Mountain

Mount Sutro Nature Walks are back!

Join us for a guided spring nature walk on the Mount Sutro Open Space between March and May! Our experienced leaders will lead you through the trails on a two-hour tour on a variety of focused topics. However, on each walk you'll learn about the unique ecology of the area and the efforts being made to preserve and protect it. Check out our Eventbrite Page to see dates and topics!

• Saturday, April 20th | 12:30p-2:30p| Health in Nature on Mt. Sutro Featuring Bridget Llanes. Come learn about wellness on Mt. Sutro like Mindfulness Mediations and Mountain Medicines. Make and drink a tasty tea you collect along the way.

Suggested donation $20. This is not a top or bottom limit; please give what you can to support our educational efforts and our work to improve the Mount Sutro Open Space through trail building and maintenance, plant propagation, and habitat restoration!

Limited parking is available for participants during the hike. Parking is available along Clarendon Avenue or Christopher Drive and a short 5-10 minute walk to the nursery.

**Hikes may be canceled for rain or high winds. Hikes will be canceled if there are not at least 3 RSVPs 2 hours prior to the event. Please check your email for updates.**

• Saturday, May 4th| 10:00a-12:00p | Contiguous Habitat Corridor Featuring Kelly Dodge. Come enjoy all the plants that Mount Sutro has to offer. We'll ID annual and perrenial plants and share all the fun facts about our native plants. You'll also hear about some of the community based restoration that happens on the mountain.

Saturday, May 18th | 9:30am-11:30am | Natural History & Change

• Featuring Bridget Llanes. Learn about the history of Mt. Sutro beginning with a very special 100 million year old rock! We will walk the Historic Trail to the Summit, and Eastridge to observe and experience the many changes that have occurred to make the mountain what it is today. Open to the general public and Aldea Housing events.

Saturday, May 25th | 10:00a-12:00p | Woodland Canyon Watershed

• Featuring Abigail Alfonso and the Sutro Nursery team for a wildflower and seed scouting walk for native plants on Mt.Sutro! We'll take a stroll through Mt. Sutro's trails scouting for native wildflowers and perennial plants for sustainable seed collection to help conserve the unique ecology of Mt. Sutro.
