The Friends of Croydon Recreation Ground are proud to present Spring Into Summer on Sunday 31st May between 1-6pm. Fun for all of the family with stalls and games and a programme of live music performed by the Sonnet Wind Orchestra, conducted by Rupert Bond, from 3-5pm.The programme will include music by Richard Strauss, Henry Mancini, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Leonard Bernstein, Christopher Frost, The Beatles and other well-known marches, themes and new music written for the ensemble.
Sonnet Wind Orchestra is an ensemble comprised of a pool of 30+ accomplished musicians giving their time for free performing in concerts and fundraising events across London and the South East. Venues include bandstands, churches, community halls and shopping centres. The ensemble has raised hundreds of pounds for worthy causes including the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal, Guy’s Cancer Charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, Refuge, RNLI, London’s Air Ambulance as well as local charities.
