Become a steward of the land and join us for a morning of woodland habitat restoration at Fort Des Moines Park!
About this Event

Join Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Polk County Conservation, and the Blank Park Zoo as we Spring Into Action and spend a morning of land stewardship and community at Fort Des Moines Park. Volunteers will remove invasive honeysuckle and garlic mustard from Fort Des Moines Park's woodlands. Invasive plants spread rapidly and quickly displace native species and wildflowers. If left unchecked, many can cause serious damage to our woodland habitats. After the event, organizers will take the recently removed plants to Blank Park Zoo where they will be used as tasty treats for the animals.
