Go on a guided forage for spring edibles and herbs. Learn to make your own lacto-fermented pickles from your forage to take home!
About this Event

In spring, we can find many medicinal herbs, nutritious plants, trees, and even some edible mushrooms like morels around us. As we walk, I will teach you how to find and identify edibles safely, methods of preparation and preservation, nutritional and medicinal value. We will collect nutritious invasive plants to make lacto-fermented pickles in the kitchen (also learn about the process!) Bring a camera and/or notebook so you can document our finds, collection bags, and a knife or shears. Wear comfortable walking shoes or boots as the terrain may be uneven or muddy. As we hike, be prepared for mud, rocks, steep areas. Insect spray and sunscreen are recommended. Bring home your pickles, info. sheets and recipes!
This workshop is located at a private residence in Waltham, MA. After you purchase your ticket, I will email you with the exact address.

My wild-foraged Elderberry Syrup, herbal tinctures, Wild Herbal Salve, my daughter's handmade jewelry, Wildflower Syrups, and other wild-crafted items will be available for purchase before and after class.
