Spring FechtschuleAt the end of our beginner's courses, we like to celebrate the completion of the course with a ‘Fechtschule’. A friendly night where we open our doors to give the latest group a chance to test their skills with current members and visitors from other HEMA clubs.
Participants start with a set number of coins. A match must include two fencers and a judge. Judging will happen according to the Auckland Longsword rule set (for those unfamiliar, we will explain on the night). Each fencer wagers 2 coins for a match, the winner takes 3 and the judge keeps 1. Participants can decide whether to fence with foams or steel - appropriate PPE is required.
In the event of an economic collapse additional coins can be dispensed. It has happened before, and it will happen again.
