Spring Equinox Day Long Retreat
Suggested donation: $75
This day is geared for our folks to be together and steep in the medicine of community. We will release what doesn't serve us, and plant new seeds for individual healing and collective liberation with the spring equinox. Lunch will be provided. Did we mention goodie bags?! Space is limited, pay what you can.

Pranayama (Breath Practices) with Melissa Shah

Info: This practice will anchor and ground us together and support you in connecting to your inner knowing for our day together.
Melissa Shah (she/they), a first-generation Indian American, is a skilled at adapting yoga practices to the individual. She works to decolonize how we practice yoga in the West by helping people connect to their inner knowing, bringing to light disparities in wellness spaces, and reclaiming representation for South Asian yoga practitioners. The founder of Find Your Breath, Melissa also holds a masters degree in public health, with a focus on health policy, from Columbia University.
As a steward of these sacred practices, Melissa currently offers individual yoga therapy and Ayurvedic support and promotes public health in communities by offering yoga education in public schools and clinical settings.

Info: What everyday actions transform and transport us (in)to our liberatory futures? This session will be for honoring our daily practices of resistance, care, and rest as portals to our imagined future.
Nordia Simmonds is an diasporic Afro-Caribbean queer researcher whose interests and work lie at the intersections of identity and liberation, and legacies of hope and decolonizing narratives. These curiosities arise from her upbringing in a working-class Jamaican family who hold values rooted in Euro-Christian concepts of faith and compassion, and embody Afro-Carib views of family/kinship which extend concepts of relation and insist on collective care.

Intuitive Collage with K'era Morgan

Info: After a brief meditation connecting to affirmations and shifts we are calling in with the Spring Equinox, exhibiting artist Kโera Morgan will guide us in a hands on workshop in building a collage as a meditative practice.
Kโera is a Los Angeles-based mixed media artist who continues to explore the art of abstraction in the form of collage and painting. Her inspiration comes from the natural environment however it is less about mimicking its visual forms, and more about channeling its instinctual, rhythmic essence. She sees nature as a mirror reflecting back insights about our shared human experience and the current status of the collective psyche and wellbeing. In turn, the work she creates explores the parallels between literal and metaphorical landscapes and our inner terrain, organic patterns and the mind's ephemeral currents.
