Session 2: Ecosystem Health
Native & Invasive Species
We will discuss how healthy ecosystems function and the benefits and consequences of native habitats and introduced (non-native) species. We will examine the ways in which humans have, in most cases inadvertently, altered the face of the landscape and disrupted the naturally-occurring food web. There are actions we can take as inhabitants of these same ecosystems to promote the resilience and the health of our environments.
Amy Knickerbocker holds a B.S. in Botany from SUNY ESF, an M.S. in Forest Ecology from Oregon State University-Corvallis, and an M.S. in Education from the University of Rochester
