About this Event
Please join us for the Spring 2026 Backyard Gardening Series!
The series will run from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on March 4 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on March 11 at the Leon County Extension Office (615 Paul Russell Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32301).
The two-evening series will feature Extension Agents Mark Tancig, Molly Jameson, and Trevor Hylton as they discuss:
- Garden site selection
- Soil and fertilization
- Spring planting and gardening techniques
- An Extension Demonstration Garden tour
- Hands-on planting of spring vegetables to take home*
Light refreshments will be provided. Please wear closed-toe shoes on March 11, as we will tour the Leon County Extension Office Demonstration Garden, located on site, weather permitting.

Online payment is preferred, but if needed, checks made out to University of Florida can be submitted at the door as an alternative payment method.
*Refund requests are accepted up to 24 hours before the commencement of the first class. Please note that attendees must be present during the class to be eligible for any plants or seeds provided as part of the program.
