The McClung Museum offers Enhanced Learning Homeschool Programs. These 90 minute sessions cost $5.00 per student and give students an opportunity to experience hands-on learning in the museum's galleries. Programs are designed for K-8 students.Upcoming Programs:
🐟 Just Keep Swimming!
📆 Tuesday, March 4, 9:30-11:00
This session will feature our spring exhibition X-Ray Vision: Fish Inside Out. Guest speaker Dr. Ben Keck, from UT’s Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology will help us interpret fish morphology to understand how they interact with their environment.
🖼️ Exploring Homelands
📆 Tuesday, April 1, 9:30-11:00
This session will highlight our newest exhibition Homelands: Connecting to Mounds through Native Art. Johnnie Diacon, featured artist in the show, will join us for a discussion and mini art workshop.
🎨 Experimenting with Colors
📆 Tuesday, May 6, 9:30-11:00
In this session we will explore how colors and pigments have been processed for use in different media throughout time. Guest speaker Manuel Amaya, conservator, will lead a demonstration and mini lab activity.
