The PTA is excited to host a Spring Book Fair this year. The PTA is partnering with local small business Bookworm Central, who brings a wide variety of publishers and titles for our community. The Spring Book Fair will run Monday, March 17th through Friday, March 21st and we need lots of volunteers to make the Book Fair a success. Please see below for details. Monday, 3/17 and Tuesday, 3/18 - School Hours:
The first two days of the Fair will be held for classrooms to visit and preview the Fair. During these two days, no purchasing will take place. Each classroom will visit for 15 minutes to preview the books and make wishlists to take home for families to review. During these days, volunteers will help orient kids to the Book Fair, assist them with making wish lists to take home and will help keep the Book Fair organized between classroom visits.
Please note that in order to keep Book Fair inventory available for purchasing days, volunteers will not be able to make purchases on the preview days.
Wednesday, 3/19 - Friday, 3/21 - School Hours:
The latter three days will be for classrooms to return to the Fair for 20 minutes and use that time for purchasing. During these days, volunteers will help orient kids to the Book Fair, assist them with selecting items to buy, manage check-out/payments and will help keep the Book Fair organized between classroom visits.
Wednesday, 3/19 - Friday, 3/21 - School Hours: Before/After School Hours:
Morning and evening hours will be available as follows for caregivers to attend the Book Fair outside school hours:
1. Wednesday, 3/19, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
2. Thursday, 3/20, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
3. Thursday, 3/20, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
4. Friday, 3/21, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Afternoon and evening hours can be especially busy times for the Book Fair and we would love volunteers to make sure we can accommodate everyone at these times. Volunteers will keep the Fair organized, will help caregivers and kids with purchases, manage check-out/payments and help with managing doors/traffic in and out of the school.
Volunteer sign-ups include notes on which teachers are signed up to visit within those time slots. Please add a note if you might arrive earlier or later than the time slot indicates and we welcome as much support as we can get, particularly on purchasing and before/after-school times so feel free to sign up multiple times.
