Spring 2024 Wheel Throwing Class

DESCRIPTION:

Join us for a fun and relaxing learning experience creating one of a kind pottery you make from scratch on a potter's wheel!

Take a wheel throwing class for all skill levels from beginner/novice to intermediate for ages 18 and up. We provide attentive hands-on wheel throwing instruction that we are able to personalize to your experience with instructor Kassie Dilworth teaching basic and advanced techniques for all levels in this 3-hour, weekly class.

Beginner to Advanced Students Welcome!

SCHEDULE:

This class will meet once per week for three hours. This is an 8 week class that will meet 8 times.

WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO BRING:

Your class will meet each week at the Concho Clay Studio. We are part of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, located at 1 Love St. San Angelo, TX. 76903. Look for our signs outside the studio, our entrance is located to the left of the main museum, up the ramp in the breezeway.

Tools are provided for all classes. Please be prepared to pay for clay during your first class. We can accept cash, check, or credit cards for payment. Museum members, seniors, and military get 10% off clay purchases. You can become a museum member online at https://www.samfa.org/support or in person at the studio. We do not allow outside clays to be brought in for classes, all clay must be purchased here at the studio.

OPEN STUDIO ACCESS:

If you register for any 6-8 week class you also get full access to Open Studio hours to work outside of class, while enrolled in a class.

Open Studio is not a substitute for class, there is no instruction or demonstrations as there is no instructor available during these hours. Staff will be available for questions or concerns as needed by students and members.

Spring Open Studio Hours*:

Tuesdays 10am-2pm

Wednesdays 10am-2pm

Thursdays 10am-2pm

Fridays 10am-3pm & 4pm-9pm

Saturdays 10am-2pm

*Open Studio may Occassionally be unavailable if CCS is offering a Workshop or for Special Events

PLEASE NOTE:

This class is for adults 18 years or older. Students of 16 years or above may take the course if accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also registered for the class. If you are interested in children's programming, please visit https://www.samfa.org/education-at-samfa.

Only one ticket may be purchased at a time. Please use the name and contact information for the student taking the course if you are purchasing a ticket for another person.

Minimum Registration of 3 Required for Class to Make

If you cannot attend the class and will need a refund, please notify us as soon as possible to give us time to consider other students often on waitlists to get into classes.

REFUND POLICY:

We determine refunds on a case by case basis. Our policy does not take attendance into consideration. All Eventbrite fees are non-refundable.Please email [email protected] to request a refund.

If Course is Canceled or up to 2 days before the first Class Meeting: 100%

48 hours prior to 1st Scheduled Class Meeting: 75%

After the 1st class and Before the 2nd class meeting: 50%

After the 2nd class meeting: No Refunds
