Spread Cheer: Holiday Cards, Craft Ornaments, and Food Drive at Time Out

Community members of all ages are invited to join The Service Collective for some festive volunteer service for everyone in the family, and help make an impact in our community. You’ll help to feed hungry neighbors, and make them feel loved and cared for.

We will be crafting ornaments to support Vinegar Hill Food Pantry’s Giving Tree at the DUMBO Tree Lighting on December 4th, creating heartfelt holiday cards for homebound seniors at Heights and Hills, and holiday cards to be paired with a donated toy from Spread Love Brooklyn’s upcoming Community Toy Drive. We’ll make as many ornaments and cards as we can while supplies last!

All Ages! (Ages 13+ may come without guardian.) Please bring nonperishable foods to donate to Vinegar Hill Food Pantry.

About : The Service Collective is Brooklyn’s only organization dedicated to fostering youth community engagement through volunteer service. They organize Brooklyn-based volunteer service projects for kids, teens, and families.

About : This small but mighty Brooklyn-based food pantry partners with generous friends and local businesses to provide weekly food distributions to over 175 local families. Our goal is to feed our neighbors, raise awareness of local food insecurity, and make support feel within reach, one meal and one person at a time.

Our programs and services are centered on the basic needs of older adults as they age to improve health, satisfaction, and longevity: financial and food security; access to health care; a safe, affordable, and comfortable place to live; the ability to accomplish life’s basic tasks; and social supports to prevent isolation.
