About this Event
Spotlight - A Community Event to Combat Bullying
Lunch Money presents "Spotlight", the first of a series of upcoming community-driven events dedicated to raising awareness about bullying in Seattle's schools and creating a safer, more inclusive environment for students. This event will bring together local artists, educators, students, and advocates for an evening of live performances, educational workshops, and interactive discussions aimed at addressing bullying head-on. Whether you're a student, parent, teacher, or community member, this will provide you with an opportunity to learn, engage, and take meaningful action.
What to Expect:
- Live Performances: Enjoy performances from local musicans LIVt, Aryana León, and LCN! A live painter, Nikita Ares, will also create artwork during the performances, which will be auctioned to support anti-bullying initiatives.
- Discussions and Workshops: Hear from Ryan Nakade, a conflict resolution/mediation trainer who will do a deep dive into de-escalating bullying. This workshop will include effective strategies to prevent bullying, support students' mental health, and create inclusive school environments. Expect open discussions where everyone is encouraged to share ideas and experiences.
- Fundraising Raffle and Merchandise: Take part in our fundraising raffle and half-court shot competition featuring prizes from local businesses, and purchase exclusive merchandise with anti-bullying messages. All proceeds will go towards supporting anti-bullying programs in Seattle schools.
- Resource Booths: Explore booths hosted by local organizations and non-profits that offer support and resources for bullying prevention, mental health, and community involvement. Connect with services and learn about ongoing programs that you can get involved in beyond the event.
This event is your chance to be part of a movement that brings our community together to take action against bullying. Whether you're seeking to learn more, share your story, or simply just support a good cause, we will provide you with the tools, connections, and inspiration to make a difference. Tickets are offered on a sliding scale to allow for accessibility for all.
