World class women’s tennis returns to Southern California as WTA stars, including U.S. Open champion Sloane Stephens, U.S. Open runner up Leylah Fernandez and Greek superstar Maria Sakkari, invade Frontwave Arena to compete in a three match (two singles and one doubles) competition on the final day of the SI Women’s Games where the team championship will be at stake. Each best of three set match will be played with no ad scoring and a third set 10 point tiebreaker to add to the pressure and excitement to the final competition of the Games.
The SI Women’s Games is an all-women’s international all-star team competition featuring teams of elite athletes from the Americas against teams from the Rest of the World competing in different sports for the SI Women’s Games championship. The purpose behind the Games is to shine a light on women’s sports and the impact of female athletes on sports and culture. The Games are planned to take place every other year. In 2025 the Games will take place in Oceanside, CA.
Event Format: the SI Women’s Games will consist of competition in seven sports over six days. Athletes will compete for prize money based on the results in their sport and the cumulative results of the Games. The SI Women’s Games will be broadcast live around the world.
