Spoon making workshop

Join us for our new Spoon Carving Skills Workshop in the beautiful surroundings of the Heart of England Forest.

You will learn to work with wood using hand tools to create your own spoon.

Your instructor Craig Wood, an experienced and talented green woodworker, will cover everything to get you started carving wonderful spoons. You will learn how to use carving tools, axes, knives and hook knives safely and effectively, how to rough out your spoon blanks with an axe and then use a hook knife to hollow the bowl of your spoon. There will also be informal discussion on the use of different wood species, how to sharpen your tools and finishing your spoon.

The group size is limited to eight to ensure appropriate tuition time per participant. Suitable for adults aged 18+ only.

All workshop materials and tea/coffee/biscuits are included in the price. Please bring your own packed lunch.
