Start a new hobby or simply try a traditional craft on my spoon carving workshop at a beautiful venue in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
You'll learn how to use an axe and knives to shape wood safely and efficiently while making your own unique and beautiful cooking spoon.
Steve Tomlin is one of the UK's leading spoon carvers and instructors, a Queen Elizabeth crafts scholar and has been teaching since 2003. No experience is necessary but, if you have already started carving, I can tailor the workshop to progress your skills and develop your designs.
Spoon carving is a perfect introduction to wood carving and an addictive hobby. You only need a few tools and small amounts of wood to create beautiful, useful gifts. Suitable for beginners, improvers and anyone wanting to get away from the screens and back to making with their hands and natural materials.
