Acid rock local trio Spooky Eyes and New Zealand garage psych rock squadron S.E.I.S.M.I.C join forces for a double headliner show at Altar Bar!
Supported by psych-garage rock darling Joel Green Band with their hometown debut, and Alt Rock soloist Willow Nischler, as part of a brand new reciprocal touring programme pilot between Hobart and Christchurch!

Local music community members (Feather - Darkroom & Sam - RVNKNG) in Nipaluna Hobart and Ōtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand are collaborating on the pilot of a reciprocal touring programme between the two cities. Participating bands will play a run of shows together in Tasmania in May 2026, before teaming up again in Canterbury, New Zealand in July 2026.
The idea behind the program is that both acts show them their scenes, their rehearsal spaces, houses, airport lifts, snacks, skate parks, the community and important localised knowledge you wouldn't get otherwise. International touring is expensive and the additional workload pushes it out of reach for younger bands in more isolated areas. By linking up with locals on the ground at each end, the project helps to share the load and puts international touring in reach for emerging, DIY bands.
This pilot has received a small funding contribution towards the costs associated with these shows, but with flights and, well, everything else being so expensive these days the bands would love you to show your support by buying a ticket and some merch. If this one works, Feather and Sam hope to make this an ongoing annual project, sharing bands across two incredibly isolated cities with too much talent to avoid.
