An important part of London’s 2000-year history and present-day culture is the contribution made by waves of immigrants from all corners of the world. This two-hour walking tour starts in the City of London, and will take us through the adjacent Spitalfields and Brick Lane neighbourhoods where a large Jewish community from Eastern Europe thrived until the mid- 20th century.
Our walk will include some of their stories, plus visits to important synagogues and other sites of historic and cultural significance. Embark on a journey through time as we stroll along streets and alleys where Yiddish was once a common language, and learn about the vibrant local Jewish community of the past - whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of today’s multi-cultural East End. Your guide will also describe 1000 years of Jewish history in Britain.
Join us to celebrate London's cultural diversity and the legacy of Jewish people in the heart of this great city.
