Welcome to this spring semester of spiritually focused yoga classes.
By "spiritual yoga" I don't mean religious or dogmatic, rather that we practice for all parts of our being: physical (asana), energetic/pranic (pranayama, bandha), mental/emotional (mudra, focusing the mind in certain ways during the practice, relaxation, introspection, meditation), spiritual (stillness, being) - in each class we move from the outer self to the inner self. In this way we can have an experience also of our inner selves.
You dont need any previous experience to participate in these classes; all practices will be described and introduced - a bit of curiosity goes a long way.

What to bring?
You only need to bring yourself with an empty stomach and some loose comfortable clothes.
Mats are in the studio, but if you wish to bring your own you are welcome to. (Practicing on our own mat helps accumulate energy and focus :)
About your teacher:
My name is Janaki. I have been a yogini probably my whole life, from when, at the age of 9, I drew a huge ugly outline of a person with coloured chakrapoints and hung it on my wall (without any concept of what it really was), till I, at the age of 21, entered my first yoga class (again without really knowing what I was going to). I ended up studying yoga in the Bihar School of Yoga, Satyananda Yoga Ashram in India, where I discovered my intense interest in in yoga. I have been a yoga teacher for 11 years., and the journey continues. :)
I am also trauma healing practitioner. I am deeply interested in what it means to be human and how we all can connect with our inner spiritual nature.
