Kick off the Spirits Run for ALS 5K Illinois Series at Stop #1: Chicago, where we join international endurance runner Enric Casacuberta as he begins his journey down historic Route 66 to raise awareness and funds for ALS.
This noncompetitive, community focused 5K welcomes all paces — runners, walkers, families, and supporters. Our Chicago route highlights the city’s iconic lakefront and downtown landmarks as we make our way from the NEW Route 66 sign at Navy Pier to the historic OLD Route 66 “Begin” sign at Adams & Michigan. This symbolic stretch marks the official start of Enric’s 301-mile Illinois journey.
Participants will follow sidewalks, pedestrian paths, and marked crosswalks at all times. No streets will be closed. Volunteers will assist with wayfinding and safety (this is dependent upon.
