Homer Watson showed an interest in spiritualism at an early age, which influenced both his personal life and his artwork. In the 1920’s, Homer Watson’s interest in spiritualism was deepened with the passing of his wife loving Roxana. The Spirit Market carries on the tradition of the exploration and practice of spiritualism. Join other enthusiasts with spirit-themed vendors and workshops. From crystals, tarot cards, art, to devilishly tasty treats, there is something for everyone!

This event is part of our month long celebration called Spirit Season. Spirit Season celebrates a tradition of Spiritualism formed by Homer’s belief in a “world beyond” the physical, and its effect on his life and art. After experiencing a vision of his deceased wife’s ghost, Homer Watson was inspired to take up the practice of Spiritualism. From that point onward, Homer began conducting seances and inviting mediums to Doon.
