Presented by The Antonia and Vladimir Kulaev Cultural Heritage Fund.
This series showcases local and regional musicians in a relaxed and intimate setting. The lobby is transformed into a 70-seat showcase lounge!
Current nominees for Roots Act of the Year and Song of the Year by the New England Music Awards, Hawk In The Nest is the music project of award winning singer-songwriter Avi Jacob, who celebrates elements of Folk, Pop, Bluegrass, and Americana along with R&B. Grounded in admiration for artists like Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Otis Redding, Bob Dylan, Nirvana and the Four Tops. Hawk in the Nest successfully bridges the gap between timeless and urgent, harkening back to eras of old without relying on overwhelming nostalgia. Instead, an organic approach to songwriting sees Hawk in the Nest embrace inspiration as it strikes, an artist fully stepping into his own. The incredibly talented fiddler Jacqui Armbruster and upright bass player Johnny Santini have become regular members of the band.
After 5 years as an organic vegetable farmer Avi started a career that has seen him perform as direct support for many great artists including the Marcus King Band, Dr. John, the Lone Bellow, Mipso, and playing around 200 shows a year. In December 2015, The Counting Crows invited him to perform at the CMJ Festival, tweeting that he's “an emerging folk superstar.” That same year, A&R Report featured him as an artist to watch. Avi relocated back to his beloved New England, settling in Providence, Rhode Island. His 2018 EP "Surrender" was produced by Simone Felice, known for his work on The Lumineers' Billboard #1 album "Cleopatra," and was featured in American Songwriter Magazine. In 2022, Avi won a New England Music Award, and performed at several Americana Festivals in Europe. 2026 saw Avi win the 2026 New England Songwriting Contest for Best Folk/Americana song.
Live performance is sacred to Hawk in the Nest, and they are on a mission to create life-changing moments where music can act as a point of movement and connection. Don’t miss a show as every performance is unique and often transcends to pure magic.
