Class level: Beginner
Learn the basic principles of the spinning wheel, how yarn is made, about different types of fiber, etc. Learn how to create a "single" yarn and to ply that yarn when the single is finished.
Materials:
Spinning wheel in good working order and at least one bobbin for that wheel. Good working order means all parts are in good shape -no missing pieces, and the wheel is balanced.
Fiber will be provided for the class. Additional fiber for at home spinning will be available for purchase after class.
The "Rent a Wheel" option for this class includes the use of an Ashford Traditional Single Drive OR Ashford Joy Spinning Wheel. One week rental of the wheel is included.
