Spilt Wine Book Swap

Bring a book you loved. Leave with one you haven't read yet.

Book Swap is something a little different from our usual table discussions. Think larger group, social vibes where you'll spend a Sunday evening drinking good wine, browsing mystery books, and connecting with other readers over books you loved, and those you're yet to read.

How it works

It's simple! Bring a book you loved and are happy to pass on (from your shelf, picked up secondhand, or purchased new), ensuring it's in good condition. On arrival you'll wrap it and label it with a few clues about the story and vibe. Then lay it out on the table with all the other mystery books. You'll be able to browse the collection and choose a book based on those clues.

Once everyone has swapped, you'll get to find the person who chose your book and tell them why you loved it. It's a fun, low-pressure way to discover something new and connect with other book lovers over a glass of wine.

Every attendee will also head home with a small curated goodie bag featuring a few bookish extras.

Tickets: $30 pp

Bar Elsie will have $15 martinis on and a delicious food menu to keep you going through the night.

Come with a friend or come solo! This will be a chance to mingle with other local book lovers and chat about books you've read and loved (or hated!).

Please only book if you're sure you can make it. Heaps of planning goes into these events and we do cap numbers to fit the space so when spots go unused, other readers miss out. If your plans change, just let us know so we can offer your ticket to someone else!
