Handlers will learn a solid foundation of how to effectively and safely decoy. Students will learn basic decoy skills, like bite placement and proper catch techniques while keeping the K9 safe from injury. As a decoy, you are an invaluable training tool. In this course, you will learn how to facilitate the growth of confidence and clarity in dogs on the bite, creating safer and stronger teams.This course is limited to 15 available spots!
The goal of our Spike’s School is to educate and improve communication between the handler and their K9 through top-notch training from exceptional and recognized trainers across the country. Quality training results in increased effectiveness in the workplace and safer handling, protecting everyone involved. Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to sponsor approved applicants to help relieve the burden of training costs.
We will be teaming up with Joey Agustin and Scott Clark, to provide the best education possible. They provide innovative and customizable training to fit the needs of students attending. Their attention to detail and knowledge will take your tracking skills to the next level.

Prerequisites:
1. Handler and K9 must be an active and certified member of a departments K9 unit.
2. Dog must be current on core vaccinations per AAHA Core Vaccines: Rabies, and Combination vaccine (Distemper, Adenovirus-2, Parvovirus, +/- Parainfluenza).
3. PLEASE NOTE **Students will be expected to participate in intense and rigorous training with K9's. Please come ready to train**
**If a K9 attending the course has received a ballistic vest from Spike's K9 Fund's donors, the K9 must wear the vest for the duration of the course. If the K9 team does not bring the vest with them, the team will be responsible for training fees associated with the course.**
