Hello and thank you for your interest regarding my new book. It's exciting to now start the journey of releasing my book, after so many years of reflection and work.
My journey to being a member of the 1980 National Championship Georgia Bulldog team was long and eventful. It started as a young athlete growing up in Valdosta, Georgia dreaming of great things. How could you not? The Valdosta High experience was nothing less than amazing. The Wildcats were winning state football championships it seemed like almost every year, under the legendary, Hall of Fame Head Coach Wright Bazemore. We all dreamed of one day putting on that Valdosta High Wildcat uniform and bringing more glory to our football crazy town.
Now as an adult, I'm constantly getting asked what the secret to success was in Valdosta. So, I'll share a lot of that in the book.
My days at the University of Georgia are going to be highlighted too. The quarterback competition that I found myself in the middle of and how that played out. I'm anxious to brag on my teammates that did not get enough credit for the impact they made on our road to the 1980 National Title. Also, I'll share some stories about my relationship with College Football Hall of Fame Head Coach Vince Dooley and the recruitment of the great Herschel Walker.
My story is one of a two-sport athlete, who specialized in both football and baseball. That proved to be a winding road along the way, but one I was determined to see play out.
This has been a project that has been considered since my time at UGA. I'm so excited to now release it to The Bulldog Nation!
