Spelling & Spirits 2025

is hosting a Spelling + Spirits adult spelling bee and fundraiser. Whether you are a speller, sipper, spender, or spectator (or any combination), join us on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 7-10 p.m. at for this literary-inspired annual fundraising event.

Brush up on your encoding skills, sign up for the optional spelling bee, and bid on our silent auction baskets. Tickets are limited, so get yours today! All proceeds support our mission of eliminating inequities in education by fostering a diverse community of learners prepared to navigate the world. Decode Project teaches kids to read, and we can’t do it without the generosity of Y-O-U, the community, and all our faithful champions.

Doors open at 7 p.m. You can sign up on site by 7:30 p.m. to participate in the bee*. Spelling begins at 7:45 p.m. and is limited to 25 participants. We had a full roster last year, so don't miss out on your chance to compete.

Delicious bites, sponsored in part by (TVG), are included with your ticket, and drinks will be available for purchase. While this is a family-friendly event, the spelling competition is adults only.

Can't make it to the event? You can still support the fundraiser by donating ! Your donation enables Decode Project to:

• Provide free and affordable reading instruction to students who are not yet reading at grade-level proficiency
• Provide training in Structured Literacy, cross-cultural relationship-building, resilience-building, and trauma-informed care for future educators and community leaders
• Develop a network of advocates for students and efforts toward more equitable educational institutions
