About this Event

From January 11th to 16th in Seattle, Washington, Nick Jaina will be hosting a series of intimate performances in support of his new book SPEKTRUM.

Part reading, part music performance, part discussion, the goal of Spektrum Tea Service is transformation. Each seating is limited to eight people. When the guests arrive, one of them spins a wheel that determines the color for the hour. The lighting is changed to the appropriate color, and the guests are served tea. Nick begins looping guitar music to create a sound bed for the recitation of the appropriate chapter of the book. Discussion, laughter, and transformation ensues.

It is very important that you arrive at this event fifteen minutes early. Your presence is important to the functioning of the tea service. Unlike most events, this starts at exactly the time listed, and if you are late, you might sacrifice your seat. Please don't enter the show after the door is closed.

You don't need to print out a ticket. Just come and tell me your name.

COVID precautions: I'm vaccinated and boosted and I'll be testing regularly and will postpone shows if I have any symptoms. The intimate nature of these readings won't make it possible for me to wear a mask, and since guests will be drinking tea, mask wearing will be tricky. But you are welcome to wear a mask as much as you want, refrain from drinking tea, or do whatever you need to feel comfortable.
