Multi-Grammy nominated Spektral Quartet’s 2018 commission PLAIN, AIR (by composer Tonia Ko) is inspired by the natural symphony of Chicago’s magnificent lakeshore. From cicada songs to waves on rocks, PLAIN, AIR mixes field recordings with processed sounds, simulating the melodies inherent to our lakeshore surroundings. CHF, Spektral Quartet, and Ko invite you to a special performance of PLAIN, AIR hosted by plant ecologist and author Robin Wall Kimmerer (Braiding Sweetgrass), at the historic Great Hall of Cafe Brauer in the heart of Lincoln Park.
