Speed Dumping

SPEED DUMPING is 60 minutes of laughs and heartbreak as every 2 minutes a new comedian comes onto the stage to dump Matt Moeller with their unique talents.

After a string of unsuccessful relationships, Matt has decided to face rejection head on, on purpose. Featuring talent from all corners of Los Angeles, you’ll see characters, clowns, standup, magic, and more as everyone does their best to let him down easy, or not.

All ticket sales will be donated to Peace Over Violence, an organization dedicated to building healthy relationships, families and communities free from sexual, domestic and interpersonal violence.

Artist statement

Am I a natural-born reject? This is the question that has been looming over me lately, dealing with a break-up that made me ex-amine my choices of who and why I date. It wasn’t the first break-up (romantic or platonic) where in the aftermath I felt ex-hausted, confused, and unworthy of the next relationship. Is that my preferred state? Am I only ever “ex”-rated?

To test this question, I’ve decided to take this to the ex-treme, like a mom making her kid smoke a whole pack of cigarettes in one sitting. I’m going to sit and experience a years’ worth of rejection in a single hour. Will I break, or will I break the cycle? I’m ready to find out.
