Thursday, June 18thSpeed Day at the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup is all about getting behind the wheel and experiencing your Mustang the way it was meant to be driven. From tight, technical runs in the morning to wide-open laps in the afternoon, these events are designed to deliver real seat time in a safe, organized, and enthusiast-friendly environment.
Whether you’re new to performance driving or a seasoned track regular, there’s something here for you.
Morning Autocross (PPIR Infield)
Precision. Control. Confidence.
Our morning autocross event is the perfect introduction to performance driving—or a chance for experienced drivers to sharpen their skills. Set up on a closed course using cones, autocross emphasizes handling, braking, and driver input rather than raw speed. Each run challenges you to read the course, react quickly, and find the fastest, cleanest line.
Autocross is welcoming, low-pressure, and approachable for a wide range of drivers and vehicles. You’ll get multiple runs, clear instruction, and the opportunity to learn how your Mustang behaves near its limits—all without the commitment or intensity of full track driving. It’s fast-paced, addictive, and one of the most fun ways to compete against yourself and the clock.
Why participate?
Improve car control and driver confidence
Safe, controlled environment
Ideal for first-time performance drivers
A fun, skill-focused challenge for all Mustang builds
This event takes place on the PPIR Infield with plenty of space between cars and barricades or hazards. Cars go one at a time. Check out this helpful and in-depth article on what to expect at an autocross.
Afternoon Track Day (PPIR Roval)
Real Speed. Real Track. Real Mustang Performance.
In the afternoon, we turn things up with our track day event. This is your chance to experience sustained laps on a true road course, exploring higher speeds, longer straights, and flowing corners in a professionally managed setting. Drivers are grouped by experience level to ensure a smooth, enjoyable day for everyone on track.
Whether you’re chasing clean laps, dialing in your car, or simply enjoying the thrill of open-track driving, this event offers a rare opportunity to fully appreciate your Mustang’s performance capabilities. With generous track time and a supportive atmosphere, it’s an unforgettable experience for drivers who want more than a quick taste of speed.
Why participate?
Extended sessions on a real road course
Driver groupings for comfort and safety
A chance to experience what your Mustang was built to do
One of the most rewarding events of the entire weekend
Driving Groups
Green – Novice, little to no experience in a track environment
Blue – Intermediate, some experience on a track, but none at PPIR

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come check out the racing! We will have bleachers for easy viewing, and many of the drivers welcome ride-alongs in their cars. Spectating is free!
