About this Event

What to Expect:

A fun evening that combines country swing dancing and speed dating. Start with a 1-hour beginner-friendly country swing lesson, followed by 30 minutes of social dancing and mingling to practice what you've learned and meet other attendees in a relaxed setting. Then, from 8:30 PM–10:00 PM, you'll take part in a series of structured 5-minute speed dates. After each date, you'll privately mark whether you'd like to connect again. If both people select "yes," you'll receive each other's contact information after the event.

Friendly, welcoming, and guided from start to finish—no pressure and no awkward guessing about what’s next. Whether you're an experienced dancer or have never stepped onto a dance floor before, this event is designed to be approachable, fun, and easy to enjoy.

How It Works:

This special event is a collaboration between Speed Dating Kelowna and Okanagan Country Swing. Everything is organized for you, including the dance instruction, conversation timing, and match cards. The evening begins with a beginner lesson, followed by social dancing and mingling, before transitioning into the speed dating portion. Optional conversation starters and question prompts will be available at each table to help keep conversations flowing naturally.

Dress Code:

Smart casual. Feel free to wear something comfortable enough to dance in while still reflecting your personality.

What to Bring:

Nothing! We provide all materials. Just show up ready to dance, meet new people, and have a great time.

After the Event:

Matches are emailed within 24 hours. If you don't leave with a connection this time, many guests return for future events and find their match later. Plus, if you don't receive a match, you'll get a one-time 25% discount toward a future Speed Dating Kelowna event.
