Join us for on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 7:00 PM in the Chisholm Trail Room (in the main building) at Trinity Terrace. Our guest speaker, Ranjana Bhandari, will answer your questions following the review of a first-of-its-kind short film documenting the birth of Liveable Arlington and their work over the past decade. The mini-documentary (by Michael Rowley) looks at fracking in the Barnett shale city of Arlington, Texas, and the 10-year history and campaigns of grassroots environmental organization Liveable Arlington to protect residents from fracking expansion.
With dramatic drone views of frack sites extracting methane gas amidst residential neighborhoods, the film poses questions about the physical and environmental dangers of urban fracking and those who have long advocated to stop it.
