Special Screening | Rokkoku Kitchen
Presented by the Embassy of Japan
The "present" of Fukushima emerges through food. The trailer for "Rokkoku Kitchen," a documentary that lightly depicts the daily lives and lifestyles of three people centered around their dining tables, has been released!
The film is co-directed by non-fiction writer KAWAUCHI Ario and film director MIYOSHI Daisuke, with Kawauchi handling the interviews and composition, while Miyoshi was primarily responsible for the videography. The Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011 took away the daily lives of many people and left a deep scar on the land of Fukushima.
Years have passed since then, and people from diverse backgrounds, including returning residents, immigrants, and those visiting for work or reconstruction, are mixing together to carve out new chapters in life in the disaster-stricken areas of Fukushima. In "Rokkoku Kitchen," Kawauchi Ario and Miyoshi Daisuke travel by car along National Route 6 (commonly known as "Rokkoku"), connecting Tokyo and Fukushima.
