Special Preview Screening - The Seed of the Sacred Fig

On behalf of our partners Sharmill Films and AUSIRAN join us for an exclusive ADVANCED PREVIEW screening of the highly anticipated Iranian film "The Seed of the Sacred Fig." It's an extraordinary and dramatic thriller nominated for over 80 international film awards including the Academy Award for Best International Feature and was shot entirely in secret including real footage of protests and police violence on the streets of Tehran. The screening includes a special introduction from director Mohammad Rasoulof who has since had to escape Iran to avoid arrest due to the film's powerful message.

The Seed of the Sacred Fig is an urgent female empowerment story ripped from real-life headlines of the Woman Life Freedom uprising in Iran. It focuses on the women of one traditional family as they boldly challenge their father and husband and their own cultural norms.
