Join us for EmpowerED Period, a groundbreaking event created to educate, empower, and normalize conversations about menstruation. Led by passionate youth advocates, this event provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where everyone can learn about the physical and emotional impacts of menstruation in an engaging and interactive way.
This event is designed to supplement menstrual education for young girls and children who menstruate, cultivate a supportive community, and foster a positive learning environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
🌟 What to Expect:
🌈 Icebreaker Activity: Start the event with a fun activity to create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
📖 Storytime: A 30-minute storytelling session featuring a book on menstruation, followed by a Q&A and menstrual product conversation.
🧠 Mental Health & Menstruation: A 45-minute slideshow presentation discussing how menstruation impacts mental health, self-confidence, and daily life (including sports and school).
🗣️ Q&A Session: Engage in open conversations with our youth-led panel to break the stigma and foster understanding.
🍫 Snacks & Community: Conclude the event with refreshments, snacks, and community-building activities.

- Learn healthy coping strategies for managing physical and emotional symptoms.
- Explore how to better support yourself or loved ones during menstruation.
- Break down social stigmas and foster open, judgment-free conversations.
- Make a difference by donating feminine products to benefit Family Promise of South East Florida.
🎁 Give Back:
We encourage attendees to bring feminine product donations (pads, tampons, or panty liners). All donations will go directly to Family Promise of South East Florida, and community service hours will be awarded to volunteers who donate or help run the event!

This event is thoughtfully planned and led by a team of incredible youth advocates dedicated to creating a safe and empowering space for menstruation education. By prioritizing youth voices, EmpowerED Period promotes peer-to-peer learning in an inclusive environment where attendees of all ages can feel confident, curious, and connected.
