SpeakOUT Fall Speaker Training

SpeakOUT continues our 50+ year tradition of sharing our life experiences with a range of audiences to shatter harmful stereotypes and build stronger allies for the LGBTQ+ community. The one-day intensive training will prepare volunteer speakers to conduct interactive speaking engagements in schools, colleges, workplaces, faith communities, and more in the Greater Boston area & online. SpeakOUT programs raise awareness about LGBTQ+ lives and help to create safer and more inclusive spaces. The training will focus on valuable skills such as setting the right tone, shaping and telling a story, overcoming fear, working with a co-speaker, and answering difficult questions. Participants will work in large groups as well as small breakout sessions with experienced speakers to hone their story.
Registration: $75 standard, $35 seniors/students. Pre-registration is required. Training manual, breakfast, lunch and snacks are included. Ask about scholarships & group rates.
