Speaking with Pride 2026
About this Event
The 4th annual Speaking with Pride Day of Professional Development is happening on June 4, 2026 hosted by Brock University Professional and Continuing Studies as part of the Pride Niagara Festival.
This year's theme of "Creating Space" will feature guest speaker Ted Mouradian (BA '99) from The 2% Factor.
Following the keynote session, guests will have the opportunity to attend one of three in-person learning sessions.
Learning Session 1 - "Should your personal life be kept out of the workplace?" with Ted Mouridian. This session will give you the tools on how to navigate the workplace so you can feel part of the team while you are being your authentic self.
Learning Session 2 - "Growing Space, from ground level" with Daniel Krowchuk. This session will focus on the creation of queer spaces by queer people that are focused and servicng for the community despite it notoriginally built for them and navigating the challenges with decision makers.
Learning Session 3 - "Inclusive Practices in Your Spaces" with Ashlyne O'Neil and Ann Gagne. This session will explore assumptions that are often made within organizational spaces, meetings, and communications, to provide attendees with tangible strategies for reducing harm.
Following the learning sessions, all guests are welcome to Brock University's Annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at the Flag Poles at noon and for light refreshments.
