Speaking Shakespeare Workshop
About this Event
Always wanted to try your hand at Shakespeare but the language felt like TOO MUCH to get your head around? You're not alone!
This three-hour workshop explores approaches to the text that get you speaking it quickly and understanding it better than you ever thought you could. We'll begin with warm-ups with a focus on the voice and then explore a few techniques for engaging with text before working toward getting to the point where we can speak at the speed of thought - one of the key tenets of the Shakespeariment format.
Suitable for complete beginners or anyone looking for a refresher or new approaches.
Fee: 10/15€ - payment through eventbrite, or if you want to avoid fees, bring cash.
All proceeds go to the Tragical Mirth coffers - with our goal of funding a full Shakespearian production next year!
Led by Summer Banks, teacher of improv, voice and text for over ten years, and chairwoman of Tragical Mirth e.V., the producers of Shakespeariment - seen here as Antipholus of Syracuse at Monbijou Theater in July 2026. Photo credit: Nikita Kasatkin
