From strategy to storytelling—paint a brighter social media presence for your nonprofit.Speaking In Colour: Smart social media for queer non-profits is a 90 minute workshop designed to support the marketers and communicators in the non-profit sector to produce higher quality and more engaging materials. Participants will feel empowered to both improve their engagement and digital voice. You will also learn new ways to approach algorithm's, demographics and targeted audiences through apparatus for communications. This would include and is not limited to:
Tik Tok: The significance of personality posting
The importance of multimedia cross posting
Understanding demographics and how to target them
Creating a digital voice that is crafted by community based practice.
Learn tools to combat online hate and compassion fatigue.
Recognizing and mending compassion injuries.
Not in the non-profit sector? No worries! This workshop is built for anyone and everyone who wants to make an impact on social media, but has a focus on non-profits!
Presented by M. Moakler Jessiman, who will be presenting the same workshop at this years Together for Change Conference by the Enchante Network. M. Moakler Jessiman (they/she) is a queer, multidisciplinary artist and communication specialist originally from Ktaqmkuk & Nunatsuak (Newfoundland & Labrador). Morgan is the Community and Strategic Relations Coordinator for Quadrangle NL, and has increased social media engagement 261% over the last ten months. M. holds a BSA of Communications (Intermedia) from Concordia University, and has been working for almost 10 years in the non-profit sector. They are excited to present about best practices for social media engagement and compassion fatigue in the communications sector.
